1)What dosha does Ashwagandha support?
Ashwagandha is suitable for all dosha types, but particularly pacifies vata and kapha. It may be slightly provoking for a pitta if not taken along with proper anupana or co - drinks.
3 – 6 gm powder in divided doses per day.
3)Can I use this during the day or at night?
It is advisable to use before night time as its anti stress property can induce a slight sedative effect if used not in appropriate doses.
4)Does Ashwagandha have side effects?
In case you are taking any form of prescription medication, kindly consult your physician before taking Ashwagandha.
Ashwagandha mixed with water alone has a tendency to worsen gastritis in people with sensitive stomachs. It also has a tendency to create constipation in a few. Because it is pitta provoking, people with a pitta predominant constitution may feel increased hotness of the body. Taking it with milk or ghee will be more ideal.
It is advisable to consult an Ayurvedic physician before use.
Keep out of the reach and sight of the children.
